“Ooh, flutes! Let me see! Can I have a word with you alone, Guildenstern? Why do you keep trying to find out why I act the way I do? ....Don't lie to me! You mean to tell me you try to get me to talk but don't do the same for this simple instrument? Well, you're more likely to play a melody on this than you are to get me to explain things to you!”
Here hamlet is questioning Guildenstern on why they think they are able to “play him like a flute.”Hamlet knows that they are spying on him, but Guildenstern and Rosencratz do not know of this.
There have been times in my life where people would be around me to find information about myself or people around me.
What kind of “father” summons friends of his son(who have not seen hamlet in awhile!) just so that they can spy on him. I understand if Claudius asked Guildenstern and Rosencratz if they knew anything about hamlet, but to ask them to pretend to be friends again and spy on him is just wrong. For Guildenstern and Rosencratz to agree to do this is worse, ok maybe that fact that he is the kind might have to do with it but it is still wrong. I’m glad nothing like this can happen today, if someone in high power asks you to do something, and you do not agree with it you can say it goes against what you believe in(well I think that is the case, I could be wrong)
