In one of the early letters Victor says, “So much has been done, exclaimed the soul of Frankenstein—more, far more, will I achieve; treading in the steps already marked, I will pioneer a new way, explore unknown powers, and unfold to the world the deepest mysteries of creation”
First of all I find it funny that he refers to himself in third person....i thought only athletes and celebrities with big egos did that. This just shows that Frankenstein just may have gone slightly mad after everything.
Basically Victor is telling Walton that he is ready to discover what is thought to be undiscoveredable Victor’s passion and desire to gain knowledge pushes him to the extremes. He wants to unfold the secrets of life and make scientific discoveries that no one thought would be possible.
We all have a thirst for knowledge. We all go to school to learn(well some of us do). As a human being curiosity is only part of our human nature. We want to answer questions that are left unanswered. We seek answers to life that will benefit society and the human race. Knowledge gives a sense of power. Knowing and Knowledge in the world help us in our world today, without it we would be left behind.
